The Doo wop project at the hop!

Heard in every sock hop, car and malt shop, rock ‘n’ roll ruled the airwaves in the ‘50s and ‘60s and American Bandstand was at the center of the action. At The Hop! is The Doo Wop Project's new symphonic love letter to that indelible show and these iconic songs.

First premiered with Philly POPS in May 2019, At The Hop! focuses on 1952-1964 when American Bandstand aired in Philadelphia. The show features original orchestrations by The Doo Wop Project's music director Santino Paladino and sold over 7,000 tickets across three performances.

Featuring songs from the likes of Bobby Rydell, Frankie Avalon, Fabian, and Smokey Robinson, the full program includes:

Bandstand Boogie, Back to the Fifties, Remember Then, At the Hop, That’s My Desire, Palisades Park, Shop Around, Venus, Come Go with Me, Mack the Knife, Sherry/Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like a Man, 16 Candles, Wildwood Days, Tiger, Since I Don’t Have You, Gloria/Speedo, Twist/Let’s Twist Again, Dec ’63 (Oh What A Night).
